About
This album presents a selection of celebrated Italian and French arias and duets such as “Nessun dorma”, “La donne è mobile”, “O soave fanciulla” and “La fleur que tu m’avais jetée”, as well as a selection of immortal Italian songs including “Caruso”, “Volare”, “Torna a Surriento” and “Parla più piano” from the film The Godfather. The selection closes with the internationally loved “Lullaby” (Wiegenlied) by Johannes Brahms.
Kaufmann’s 2021 release, Liszt: Freudvoll und Leidvoll received a wealth of five-star reviews, and was described as “an operatic feast” by The Times. In the New York Times, he was described as “a box-office draw, and... the most important, versatile tenor of his generation”.
